The "Circus Maximus". |

The
Circus Maximus lies in the Valle Murcia between the Palatine and the Aventino;
it is now arranged as a park, but its original layout and the use made
of it in ancient times emerges quite clearly. The grassy terracing was
once occupied by the various tiers of setas of the Circus and the long
garden bed at the centre was once the spina. Today you find people just
relaxing, or playing football or running.
